Matt's memorial service will be here before we know it, and planning is well under way. We have the pavilion by the river reserved at Grace Chapel. This will help provide shade and a place to sit under the hot July sun. I believe there are ceiling fans, but you may also want to bring a hand held fan to help keep cool. There will be a time to share something about Matthew for those who choose to. It will be "open floor" for anyone who wishes to speak. We would all love to hear stories about Matthew or what he meant to you.
Immediately after the service, close friends and family can meet in the fellowship hall at the church for food and refreshments. If you have pictures of Matthew that you'll be bringing with you, there will be a place set up in the fellowship hall to share these pictures with everyone - just mark your photos if you want to get them back afterward.
Matt was always so laid back and easy going. We know that he would want his service to be the same way. Please dress comfortably - keeping the July heat in mind. Come prepared to celebrate the life of Matthew. We hope the service will be beautifully simple and sincere, just as we all remember Matthew was.
